With less than a day until his final lineup was due captain Kyle Dake pulled off a trade to acquire former Cornell standout Frank Perrelli from David Taylor which led to him facing Taylor’s other 57 kg selection, Nico Megaludis.
It’s being hailed as a savvy team management move as Dake is extremely familiar with Perrelli’s background, has a strong understanding on where is athlete currently is in his training cycle, and he knows Perrelli came away with a win the last time these two met.
But over the past six months Megaludis has performed extremely well, earning a bronze medal in September at the Alexander Medved International, and he was third on the U.S. ladder taking third at 61 kg during our countries Team selection process.
What we expect to see on November 30th is a battle between a veteran and an emerging wrestler who is quickly becoming a threat on the Senior circuit level.
