Former Junior World Champions Aaron Brooks and Kamal Bey have joined a star-studded card for the 2019 Missouri Border Brawl on March 17th, at the Kansas City Union Station. The Missouri Border Brawl has been the signature post State Championship event in the state of Missouri. Featuring many of Missouri’s finest high school wrestlers, along with several bordering states’ top grapplers, this dual meet is one of the top all-star events in the nation.

On top of the premier high school bouts, the AWL will have two time All American, Alan Waters, take on 2018 World bronze medalist, Joe Colon. Former Mizzou Tigers and NCAA finalists, Lavion Mayes and Joey Lavallee will face off in this AWL featured match. Now Aaron Brooks and Kamal Bey will battle in all three wrestling styles; Freestyle, Folkstyle and Greco. In 2017, Aaron Brooks won the Junior World Freestyle title, while Bey won the World Championships in Greco. The upcoming exhibition gives wrestling fans a chance to see two of the nation’s best go head to head in a variety of styles.

The format of this exhibition will consist of three, two-minute rounds. The winner will have to win two of the three rounds to be the victor of the exhibition. The determination of which style will be wrestled first will be made by random draw. If a wrestler is pinned or earns a technical fall in a given period, the round will conclude, but the remaining rounds will be contested. “The Missouri Border Brawl is always trying to bring people the best in wrestling entertainment. Our partnership with AWL to create a three-style exhibition between 2 age group world champions on the stage in historic Kansas City Union Station is going to be epic. This matchup will be talked about for years. Get your tickets at or watch it live on!!!” said David Mirikitani, President of the Missouri

Border Brawl.

Along with the featured match ups, World Champion J’den Cox will also join this year’s Missouri Border Brawl/AWL event. Fresh off winning his first World Championship, Cox will be doing a meet and greet, signing and hosting a wrestling clinic. UFC star Tyron Woodley has also

committed to making an appearance to support the foundation and AWL. The Missouri Border Brawl proceeds go to Xtreme Couture G.I. Foundation for the wounded veterans of the armed forces. Randy Couture will also be at the Missouri Border Brawl as the Master of Ceremonies for the night.
